They really did there homework on this. The role playing is phenomenal in a depth you can only touch in an interactive novel. The writing is pretty good, there is an over abundance of replay value and there are always lots of ways to play.
It is extremely well done how all of the stats are given to just barely prevent you from doing what you want to do causing you to reevaluate your character and rebuild him/her perfectly.
Personally I would have liked to go on a few more random adventures before we went on the main quest line. I think Petras story was pretty short I just visited the town threw holy water on the vampire and that was all she wrote.
Characterization could have been a little bit better with some of the other people but the game is majorly about characterizing yourself anyways.
It is like a puzzle trying to create the best hero possible. I believe thieves and rangers are best equipped for this considering how important gold/agility/devices are for getting the magical items. But other ways of playing such as mages do receive good perks as well.
